San Jose Sharks Re-Design

Hello everyone! I hope all is doing well and everyone on the East coast is staying safe from Hurricane Sandy.  Let's get right to the concept.

San Jose Sharks
I've always been a big fan of all of San Jose's uniforms. Their colors and logos are great and they've always had pretty nice designs. My absolute favorites though, have always been their jerseys from 1998-2007. Basically my main purpose was to replicate those in a new, unique way. If you haven't noticed I'm a big fan of traditional jersey designs so this design took me a little out of my comfort zone. However I left the traditional look to the third jersey which is basically an updated version of the Sharks current third jersey. This took a lot of different designs, and redesigns but ultimately, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

An Orange Ducks Third Jersey?

Hello everyone. Just a quick concept today.

Anaheim Ducks

I've always been a fan of bright colored jerseys (yellow, orange, etc.) and thought the Ducks would look cool in an orange jersey. This design is actually based off of the San Francisco Bulls sock design. I just really liked how the gold, white and black stripes looked on orange so I through this together just to get a whole jersey idea. It's quite simple but I think it would be a neat design.

Minnesota Wild Update (Away Added)

Hello everyone. I hope you're all having a swell weekend and finding all the hockey you can to keep yo'selves entertained! A lot of people lately have been telling me that I need to make a whole Wild set off of my original concept. Well... here's an update to the original concept as well as an away jersey. Ironically as I was creating the road jersey, HJC announced their Wild Re-Design comp. so I guess I'm killing two burds with one stone.

Minnesota Wild

Pretty straight forward here. I turned the basic original design into an away version. I chose to use a cream base because I wanted to eliminate white, COMPLETELY from the Wild's color scheme and I just think the cream and green compliment each other very well. At the same time I wanted to make the design unique and I believe the yokes, striping, colors, font do just that. I was going to make a third jersey but I think both their current home and alternate would make a good one so I just decided leave it a home/away set. What do you think? Would you like to see Parise and Suter (hopefully soon!) making their Minnesota debuts in threads like these?

Blackhawks Updates

Happy Saturday everyone. I've got a few updates to yesterdays concepts. First one by me.

Chicago Blackhawks
Scott M.. recommended that I return the TV numbers to their usual position and have the captain patch match the numbers. I also made the cuffs smaller and a few other tiny changes recommended from some CCSL board members. I think I like this version better. What do you think?

Now an update from Tyler Gross...

Chicago Blackhawks (Tyler G.)
Tyler G. made a few small changes and replaced the primary logo. I have to say... I love this concept now! Great work, Tyler!

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Chicago Blackhawks: In Need of a Third Jersey!

Hello readers, get excited, it's the weekend! Colorado is getting it's first snow if the season so I decided to spend the night in and get some work done as well as a new concept!

When you talk about teams needing a new third jersey, the Blackhawks are always in the conversation. They're always a popular topic for concepts as well. Often a new twist on their Winter Classic jersey, a solid retro uni, or something fresh. My concept pokes at a little bit of everything.

Chicago Blackhawks
The main base of the jersey design is based on the Hawks 2000's black third jersey. Basically a black version of the home/away set. I started off by replacing the classic head logo with the retro circle logo and went from there. I then added the tomahawk alternate logo on top of the arm stripes. This was largely inspired from their 1950's uniforms. I took the concept even further (as well as further outside my comfort zone) and placed the TV numbers on the shoulders, a move I'm still unsure about. The rest is pretty straight forward but I am happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

Tyler Gross also has a few Blackhawks alternate concepts for us.

Chicago Blackhawks (Tyler G.)
At first I wasn't a huge fan of this concept. But... it's really grown on me! The colors, shoulder patches, numbers look great! The only thing that's kind of throwing me off is the primary logo. It does look good here, I just wonder how one of the retro logos would look on here?

 Chicago Blackhawks (Tyler G.)
Another black Hawks jersey. (Get it?) Ha anyways this one has grown on me as well. It's clean, classic, and effective. I wouldn't have a problem if Chicago suited up in these. Tremendous execution as well!

Tyler and I would both love to hear your comments so leave your feedback below. Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by, the Art of Hockey!

Ottawa Senators 2.0

Hello everyone, I have anew, old concept to share.

Ottawa Senators
A while back I did a Sens concept but looking back I hate it. This is my updated version with some significant changes. The biggest one being the change to black which, as I hear, is what most Ottawa fans want. I also added a third jersey which is basically a red version of their current third. I'm going to let the concept do the rest of the talking but let me know what you think in the comments section below. Thanks!
