Hershey takes it Outside!

A month without a post or concept? Wow! Sorry everyone for the lack of content. I've just been crazy busy with everything! But my finals are done with and now I've just got some down time to relax and enjoy this beautiful Colorado snow! Unfortunately still no hockey though. Let's get to the concept!

Hershey Bears Outdoor Classic Concept
Hershey's new look is absolutely gorgeous! I love their logos and always love a brown color scheme. I really thought that their Outdoor Classic jersey would be a cream colored jersey but they rolled this out instead. Here's my idea. A cream jerseys (considering it's actually in their color plate!) with chocolate brown accents and equipment. I wanted to keep the whole design very simplistic, clean, and classic. Not much more to say, but I think the Bears would look really great in some uni's like these. I'd love to hear your feedback!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays!!!

More Rivermen Entries

I've completed 3 Peoria Rivermen entries that I wanted to share with you and hopefully get some input.

This was my first design for the contest. I made some changes based on some feedback and created the next jersey design.

I switched the blues around and lightened up the striping by white in between. It's a much more classic design and I'm really starting to like it.

I had an idea to do a yellow jersey with blue arms and it actually came out better than I thought, I don;t typically like nicknames on jerseys but I thought doing "RIVS" in a diagonal direction would look good. The shoulder patch is a simplified version of the primary logo I created.

AHL Concepts

Today I have got a few AHL concepts. But first, I've made it into the HJC Open Finals! I've faced some really great concepts thus far but the finals will for sure be my toughest test. I'm going up against Stephane. Stephane always puts together great concepts as well as flawless presentations. I'm looking forward to competing against Stephane and I would like to wish him the best of luck! If you haven't checked out his blog you can visit it at http://letroisiemechandail.blogspot.com/. It is focuses on Montreal Canadians concepts. Whether you're a Habs fan or not I highly recommend you go check it out!

Milwaukee Admirals (by Alan)

These are awesome! A huge improvement of their current uniforms in my opinion.  The home and road are near perfect but I would switch the white and blue on the arm stripes and socks for the road jersey. When I saw the third jersey I immediately thought "Nordiques." Alan says they are a nod-back to the IHL days when Milwaukee was the Nordiques' farm club. the anchor logo is a really cool replacement for the fleur de lis. Great work on all of these!

 Peoria Rivermen
I made some changes to my original design based on some comments I received. I also added a player model to give an idea of what the jersey would look like on the ice.

I also had quite a few people on CCSL say I should switch the blues and get rid of the navy stripes in the striping. This really lightens up the design. Which version do you guys like better?

Peoria Rivermen

If you haven't heard already, the St. Louis Blues' AHL club, the Peoria Rivermen, are having  a contest to design a new third jersey. I may be making some changes but here is my entry as of now.
I really love the Blues and Rivermen's color scheme but I didn't want to get too crazy with the jersey design. I know immediately that I wanted to do a navy blue jersey however, I did not plan on using lighter blue yokes. However, with a yellow outline, they look pretty good. The last thing I did to polish off the jersey was add a sublimated rope pattern to the yellow striping. When I exported my file out of illustrator it made the pattern less visible so I added the close up view. Now lets take a look at the logos.
I have never been a huge fan of Peoria's primary logo and I wanted to create my own logo for this contest. Last year Peoria released this logo as a shoulder patch for their third jersey. I really loved the idea of the logo but something about it just wasn't working for me. Maybe it's the waves or the space between the words? I don't know. But I wanted to combine these logos into a new Peoria Rivermen logo. I stayed with the skyline idea but I changed the waves up a little bit and added a boat. Also I didn't want to create just a "typical circle logo." So I created a ship wheel similar to the one in the primary logo. The secondary logo is a modified version of the "R" from the wordmark.

I may make some small changes before submitting this but I would love to hear any feedback you guys have!

UPDATE

Steven G. suggested that I don't use a blue font on a dark blue jersey. I agree with Steven and changed to yellow numbering. I think it works with the design as well as the primarily yellow logo. It would also look better on the ice.

I also created a player model just as an idea. I don't know whether to include it as part of my entry or not?
